The school is set on
spacious grounds in leafy Kawungan, just a few minutes from the beautiful
beaches and surrounds of Hervey Bay. Our school has a strong presence in the
broader Hervey Bay community and has a well-earned reputation for making
significant contributions through our academic, musical, sporting and cultural
programs.
Our teachers focus on
delivering the Australian Curriculum in an innovative and differentiated manner
across all domains of learning. Students are supported in their learning
through an environment that values the uniqueness of each individual and, where
student wellbeing is held in high importance.
We are very proud of
the outstanding music program on offer at Kawungan State School. Our program is
recognised for excellence both within and beyond the school community, enabling
students to regularly participate in competitions and showcase their talents in
a variety of forums. Our music offerings include Class Music, Instrumental
Music and a Choral Program.
The school is
supported by a very cohesive, innovative and passionate P&C. The P&C
coordinates our tuckshop as well as operates a uniform shop within the school
grounds. The P&C meet on the second Monday of every month at 6:30pm in the
library, and are always welcoming of new members who are passionate about
making positive contributions to our school community.
